A gestural public space interactive with the Art gallery of NSW.

‍Located in Haymarket during January 2025 and designed to promote public awareness and participation, the Dancing on the Streets interactive invites members of the public to visualise themselves in one of Cao Fei’s unique digital works.

This gestural interactive is site-specific and promotes participation in a public space. Members of the public become collaborators in extended realities, visualising themselves in an alternative landscape beyond the everyday space of the city.

This collaboration will build on selected works from the ‘My City is Yours’ exhibition as a backdrop to community dancing and participation.

‍

As a result, we established holistic world-building where participants engage in an experiential junction between Fei’s speculative works and our urban reality. Created with our software partner AX Interactive.
