Inside/Out

Bringing creative knowledge and insights into Canberra's public spaces

The STORYBOX digital activations stretched out through Canberra's Civic and City West Precincts, showcasing curated collections and stories developed in partnership with major national cultural and educational institutions and local cultural agencies.  As well as the signature STORYBOX Cube, the program introduced outdoor digital plinths to support outdoor storytelling and civic arts programming.

Along with curated collections from major cultural and educational institutions, the program also facilitated a series of surveys on issues around public health, wellbeing and community vitality.

This work generated unique insights into how the community experiences Garema Place as a civic space, and some of the key issues citizens of Canberra felt were not being addressed by existing civic media assets in the public domain.

Video below features the CEO of ACT Government's City Renewal Authority launch STORYBOX in August 2022.

“The wonderful thing about Storybox in Canberra is that we are able to join up some of the most important national institutions in our city, and invite them to participate in an opportunity to share their digital collections with all Canberrans and visitors to our city.”
